How to play Up and Up

Layout:

10 tableau piles: Build up in any suit, wrapping from King to Ace as needed. Only one card can be moved at a time. Spaces are automatically filled from the stock. At the start of the game, each pile is dealt one card.

Stock: Automatically fills tableau gaps. The top card is accessible for tableau play.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, ten tableau piles of one card each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of any suit. As a result, the only card that could be played on a Q is a K. In the tableau, you may also play kings on aces.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto any other tableau pile.

Empty tableau spots are immediately filled with a card from the stock. If the stock is empty, any card may be used to fill the tableau's empty places.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.

Stock:

The stock is made up of leftover cards.

The top card of the stock is always face-up, so you may move it to the tableau whenever you choose.

Notes:

The goal is to bring all of the cards into play by stacking them up regardless of suit, which brings more cards into play through the empty spaces produced. If all of the cards from the stock are moved into the tableau, the game is over.
